The last couple months have been rough.  Have you ever had a monthly theme just kind of repeat itself over and over and over at you? So much so that you finally have to look up and say, “Okay! I get it! All right!” Lately, for me, that theme is “don’t be afraid, be willing to fail.” I do it all the time.  Fail. Yeah, I’m not afraid to say it.

Everybody fails.  So many people worry about it relentlessly.  “What if I mess up?” “What if I don’t get it right?”  I think the bigger question is, “What if you don’t try?”  We are always trying out something new, it can be scary to change things up, but I think I am more afraid of not doing whatever it is, or not anything at all.

Another View of Failure

I forget who said to try to think of failure as “an outcome you didn’t expect or want.” Whoever it was, I think they’re right!  It’s very freeing to consider it that way. Instead of “Oh wow, you suck! You’re terrible! You’ll NEVER make it,” this kind of mindset is, “Huh, well, that’s not what I wanted to see happen. What do I do next?”  It’s a lesson.  A stepping stone.  Don’t let it be the end.

Enjoy the fun of failure.

Accept failure or mistakes as an important part of a process. It’s okay if something fails. In fact, it’s fun, because it can lead you up different paths. Just don’t let the process scare you into not trying or stopping before you’re done.

What’s this got to do with my Mohave County Real Estate

Well, a lot really! Real estate can be a long hard road.  It can be scary.  It doesn’t have to be though.  Many are afraid of what needs to be done.  Many don’t know where to start.  Others are afraid they’ll make a mistake.  “What if I choose the wrong house?” Many people think they have to go it alone.  In essence you do.  You have to make the decision; you have to take the scary first step.  You’ve got to make the call to buy or sell, you drop the hammer and then we’ll be there to help.
